One year check-up

Benjamin went for his one year check-up today.

Stats:

Weight: 21 lbs,10 oz (50th percentile)

Height: 30 1/2 (50th percentile)

Head: 18 1/2 (50th percentile)

Developmentally Ben is right where he needs to be. He got one shot today and didn't even cry. I knew those chunky thighs would come in handy. :) All around it was a great doctor visit.

Ben's first birthday

Our sweet baby boy turned a year old today and we couldn't be more proud. He has brought so much joy to our lives. Some thought we were crazy to want a third child but he has completed our little family. Life just wouldn't be the same without him. Ben is the most content baby, always smiling, goes with the flow and is just an absolute love. We celebrated yesterday with family and friends at our neighborhood clubhouse. He was very polite with his cupcake when he first got it, dipping his one little finger in the icing. That didn't last for long. Before it was all said and done he was picking it up with both hands and shoving as much in his mouth at one time as he could. As much as he likes food we didn't expect any less out of the little guy. He has not yet started walking which he gets from me. I didn't start walking until I was 14 months old. He is cruising the furniture so we know its just a matter of time now and he is going to let go and take off. He says ma ma and bye bye but no da da yet (sorry John).

I am so thankful that God brought you into my life. Everyday you simply amaze me, watching you learn and grow. February 22nd, 2008, 7:43pm was one of the happiest moments of my life and I am in awe of the little person you are becoming. The way you follow me all over the house just to be with me, the slobbery yet fabulous kisses you give and the incredible bond I feel every time I sit and nurse you brings me such joy. I can't wait for the years to come and all of the things God has in store for your life. Happy 1st Birthday!!!

Birthday party #1

My stepmom will be out of town for Benjamin's birthday next weekend so we did an early celebration for his, mine and my sister's birthdays. Ben LOVED the icecream cake. Emma wanted the cake but then wasn't too sure about it, she thought the plate tasted better. We had a great time. Thanks Dad and Sharon.
