Hospital visit

Well it all began on Tuesday of last week with a 101 fever and a trip to the doctor's office. She was diagnosed with Bronchitis and put on an antibiotic. All was well until Thursday when she started running a really high fever. I got worried and rushed her to the ER. They did a chest x-ray, took blood, gave her an iv of fluids and ran every test possible. Everything came back negative which was good but no answers. The sent us home with instructions to continue on the given antibiotic and drink lots of fluids. So that is what we did. She continued running high fevers and wasn't drinking or eating and if any of you have ever had a 3 year old there is no forcing anything. Saturday morning around 11:00 I rechecked her fever and it was really high again so I called the doctor. She instructed me to go back to the hospital because something is causing the fever and we needed to figure out what. Our first doctor was actually a PA and not very nice. He took blood and retested what they had done 2 days prior with the same results. He said to take her home, continue on the meds and drink fluids. Well my stepmother who was there with me wasn't happy with that answer. Whenever they don't know what is wrong they just call it a virus. So he sent in an actual doctor. She was very nice and was determined to figure out what was wrong with our Makenzie. She sent her for another chest x-ray, more blood work, more iv fluids. They finally got the results back from the x-ray and confirmed that it was not a virus but Pneumonia. It was in the early stages and not yet full blown. If we had listened to the PA we would have been back in with a much sicker child. We are now home and after being pumped full of anitbiotics and fluids at the hospital and she is acting more like herself. It is so hard to see your kids sick and not knowing what is wrong or how to fix it. The hardest part for me was every time they would come into the room she would just look at me in total fear because they just kept sticking her with needle after needle. It is over with now and we can focus on getting her better. I prayed alot through all of this and my prayers were answered, he gave us answers and healing. He surely is an awesome God. And many thanks to those who were praying for our little girl too.
